The Indian Educational Sector like other strategic sectors has been deeply affected by the onslaught of Globalization. Educational Institutes can neither take shelter behind ivory towers nor can those who are the teachers in such institutes keep themselves insulated from accountability or competition. The process of economic liberalization which started in India in the 1990s has even made the educationalist to take stock of the monumental changes and accept the role of education as being part of the service sector. Hence all professional educational degrees have to be beefed up with value addition to be viable in the global international political economy paradigm.
